Kobayashi Recalls Rechargeable Hand Warmers Due to Risk of Serious Injury from Fire and Burn Hazards
CPSC Product recall issued Oct 1, 2026.
This recall involves Kobayashi’s HotHands-branded rechargeable hand warmers. The white with orange hand warmers were sold in packs of two warmers that can be magnetically joined together and include a charging cable. The hand warmers have a USB-C port to charge the built-in lithium-ion batteries in each unit. The adjustable-heat hand warmers have LED indicator lights on the hard plastic shell and come with a silicone lanyard. Model number “H163650” and the batch number are on the hand warmer’s underside, and the white HotHands logo is on the top and on the product packaging. Only electric rech
Stop using the product immediately, even if yours seems fine. CPSC recalls are issued after a hazard is confirmed, often from a small number of incidents.
Read the remedy line on the notice — it will say refund, replacement, or free repair kit. Companies must honor it whether or not you have a receipt.
Do not resell or donate a recalled item. Reselling recalled products is illegal, and thrift shops are a common way they keep circulating.
For nursery and toy recalls, check secondhand and hand-me-down gear too. That is where recalled cribs, sleepers, and bassinets usually turn up.
Report a product that hurt someone at SaferProducts.gov. Those reports are the main trigger for new investigations.
