Forest River, Inc.: Exterior Outlet May Lack GFCI Protection
NHTSA Vehicle recall issued Oct 5, 2026.
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2027 Surveyor recreational trailers. The exterior receptacle may not be wired to a GFCI circuit. An outlet without GFCI protection may fail to shut off electrical power when a ground-fault occurs, increasing the risk of injury.
Look up your 17-character VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. It shows every open recall on your specific vehicle, not just the newest one.
The repair is free at any franchised dealer for that brand — there is no expiration on safety recall repairs, and you never pay for parts or labor.
If the notice says 'do not drive' or 'park outside,' take it literally. Those wordings are reserved for fire and crash risks.
Register your car seat with the manufacturer. Car seat recalls reach owners only if the seat is registered.
Bought used? Recalls follow the vehicle, not the owner, so an open recall from years ago is still yours to get fixed for free.
