Recent NHTSA safety recalls for cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, tires, and child car seats. Vehicle recall repairs are always free, no matter how old the vehicle is.

Look up your 17-character VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. It shows every open recall on your specific vehicle, not just the newest one.

The repair is free at any franchised dealer for that brand — there is no expiration on safety recall repairs, and you never pay for parts or labor.

If the notice says 'do not drive' or 'park outside,' take it literally. Those wordings are reserved for fire and crash risks.

Bought used? Recalls follow the vehicle, not the owner, so an open recall from years ago is still yours to get fixed for free.
